FalconStor CEO Jim McNiel “Voluntarily” Resigned

This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 2, 2013 at 2:49 pmFalconStor Software, Inc. announced that effective June 28, 2013, Jim McNiel voluntarily resigned his positions as president and CEO of FalconStor to pursue other opportunities.
McNiel also voluntarily resigned from FalconStor’s board of directors.
The company also announced that Gary Quinn has been named interim CEO. He has been with FalconStor since April 2012 and most recently served as an EVP and as the company’s COO since April 2013. Prior to this promotion in April 2013, he served as the company’s VP of North America sales and marketing. With more than 20 years at CA Technologies, he last served as EVP of international sales and North American channel sales. In his executive sales role at CA, he turned around a three-year decline of the company’s North American channel business to an annual growth rate of 25%. He has more than 15 years of executive experience in the evolving field of technology, specifically within the partner community, assisting in generating revenue streams and strengthening relationships. Most recently, he was the commissioner of information technology at Suffolk County Department of Information Technology. He received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Hofstra University.
