Shridar Subramanian VP Marketing, Exablox

Exablox Corp. announces the appointment of industry veteran Shridar Subramanian as VP marketing.

He is a 20-year veteran in senior level marketing and engineering positions at growth storage companies. His appointment strengthens the Exablox executive leadership as the company scales to support new growth with its recent OneBlox product release.

Subramanian joins a veteran storage team that includes Ramesh Balan, who serves as VP of engineering, joining Exablox from EMC via the Data Domain acquisition. Prior, Balan served as senior director of the Veritas storage team through to its acquisition by Symantec.

The Exablox team has a track record of building  storage solutions from companies such as Data Domain, Veritas, NetApp, Omneon, GreenPlum, and Ocarina.

 Subramanian most recently served as VP of product marketing and management at Virident Systems. Prior, he was co-founder and CEO of Info-insight, a developer of auto-tiering software for the enterprise storage market. He has also held senior positions at Monosphere, Inc. and NetApp, and additional experience at Intergraph Corporate and Booz Allen & Hamilton.

He holds a master’s in Computer Science from Penn State University and a master’s in Business Administration from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

Subramanian’s appointment occurred with Exablox’s April 2013 launch of OneBlox, a cloud managed, scale-out, object-based storage appliance solution designed to solve businesses’ most common storage pain points. OneBlox features patent-pending technology to provide a cloud-managed solution featuring leading edge enterprise features, such as inline deduplication, CDP and zero-configuration storage expansion.
