Jordan Engineering Joins Dell PartnerDirect Channel Program

VAR in Canada reselling notably PowerVault arrays

Jordan Engineering, an
Ontario-based software solutions group, is the latest Canadian VAR to join Dell’s
PartnerDirect Channel Program
.

The company serves a range of process and mechanical industry sectors
including pulp and paper, metal refineries, power generation, mining, water
treatment, pharmaceutical, transportation, chemical compounding and utilities.
Its new status as a Dell channel partner enables Jordan Engineering to better
serve its customers through faster access to new product releases. As a channel
partner, the company also benefits from access to Dell training and
certification programs and pricing advantages that allow its business to remain
competitive.

Jordan Engineering’s customers require HA and reliability for mission critical
systems that control machinery in manufacturing plants. A single server failure
could result in financial losses of up to $50,000 per hour in production costs.
Working with Dell, Jordan Engineering is now able to provide its customers with
virtualized solutions that incorporate high redundancy, greater efficiency,
scalability and enhanced functionality, at a similar cost to physical server
solutions.

Customers also benefit from improved security through virtualization. Jordan
Engineering can now perform more frequent security updates, patching servers
monthly on the fly with little to no downtime. This represents big cost savings
for clients who might otherwise have compromised security in order to maintain
server availability. The company also uses technology to enable its own business
using a virtualized solution based on Dell PowerEdge servers running desktop
virtualization software, Dell PowerVault direct-attached storage arrays and
thin-clients using Dell Latitude laptops.

Jordan Engineering’s founder and CEO, Sandra Murre, learned of the Dell
PartnerDirect Channel Program while attending a Dell Women’s Entrepreneur
Network (DWEN) conference in Toronto last year and realized the expanded
relationship would be a perfect fit for her company. Sandra is active in the
global DWEN community and recently attended the DWEN global conference in
Istanbul, Turkey.

"My own experience with Dell has
been nothing short of spectacular. From buying my first Latitude laptops 14
years ago, to engineering our software solutions on Dell hardware, to my
participation in the DWEN conference, and to now becoming a fully-fledged Dell
channel partner, I have experienced nothing but encouragement and support from
the Dell team. We’re looking forward to the next chapter in our relationship
and to working more closely with Dell to deliver the best possible solutions
for our clients,
" said Murre.

"We’re delighted to expand our relationship with Jordan Engineering and
take pleasure in welcoming them formally as a PartnerDirect channel partner.
We’ve enjoyed a lengthy relationship with Jordan Engineering, supplying
laptops, servers, storage and support for them and their customers over the
years, and we now look forward to taking this to the next level. Jordan
Engineering has successfully carved out a niche as software engineers in the
mechanical industrial segment. Having them join PartnerDirect meshes with
Dell’s strategy of leveraging our channel partners as part of our end-to-end
technology platform,
" said David Miketinac, VP and GM, commercial sales,
Dell Canada.
