Emulex 16Gb FC HBAs Certified by Infortrend

For EonStor DS G7i SAN

Emulex Corporation and Infortrend Technology, Inc. announced that Emulex LightPulse 16G FC LPe16000B HBAs have been certified for Infortrend’s 16GFC EonStor DS G7i RAID storage solutions.

16GFC HBAs have been tested for compatibility and performance, ensuring Infortrend 16GFC storage users enjoy a high-performance, end-to-end 16GFC SAN solution.

With this certification, Emulex 16GFC HBAs are interoperable with the new EonStor DS G7i 16GFC storage solutions. The SAN solution meets the demand for faster bandwidth and higher throughput, and unleashes the potential of multi-core processor and SSD-driven applications and services.

16GFC EonStor DS G7i series provides a boost in performance by doubling throughput and providing superior IOPS and are backward compatible with customers’ existing 4GFC and 8GFC infrastructures allowing customers to optimize and future proof their storage environments.

Emulex 16GFC technology enables Infortrend customers to meet the demanding IT environments in the following ways:

  • FC Performance: 16GFC technology delivers up to 1.2 million IOPS on a single port, enabling its LightPulse HBAs to meet the needs of performance hungry applications, SSD and virtualized and cloud computing environments. Competing HBAs are limited to half the IOPS per port, preventing resource scaling between ports and potentially putting SLAs at risk.
  • Increased I/O Bandwidth with PCIe 3.0 Support: 16GFC technology supports PCIe 3.0, which provides a faster I/O bus, more PCIe lanes and increased I/O bandwidth, enabling the technology to match the performance capabilities of server platforms based on the new Xeon processor E5-2600 product family.
  • GreenState Power Efficiency: 16GFC technology reduces data center power consumption and associated OPEX by delivering power to port ratios of less than three watts per port.
