Asigra Enhances Support for SharePoint

Asigra Inc. announced an expanded feature set for SharePoint data recovery.

The new capabilities protect both single instances of SharePoint and complete farms in either physical or virtual implementations to support backup administrators challenged with protecting one of the enterprise’s most popular content management applications.

SharePoint ranks among the most widely deployed enterprise collaboration platforms in the world with more than 125 million licenses sold to more than 65,000 enterprise customers . According to Microsoft, it is one of the fastest-growing applications in the company’s history and analysts have called SharePoint "the most widely used document – and collaboration-centered platforms today ."

As the importance of content and collaboration grows in the enterprise, SharePoint is increasingly being used by organizations of all sizes to manage, share, track and present enterprise content assets. • Virtual DR: Provides the ability to run a VM hosting SharePoint from the backup repository for continued operations.
