Inktank Works With Alcatel-Lucent

Inktank Storage, Inc., the company delivering Ceph – the massively scalable, open source, software-defined storage system, is teaming with Alcatel-Lucent USA, Inc. to help service providers manage their storage infrastructure within the cloud.
 
Ceph is being used within Alcatel-Lucent’s carrier-grade CloudBand solution which enables communications service providers to bring the benefits of the cloud to their own networks and business operations while offering cloud services with the security, reliability and quality enterprises and consumers expect from telecommunications networks.

Part of the CloudBand nodes supplying compute, storage and more within an operator’s distributed network, Ceph provides massive storage scalability and ease of integration, making it the storage system for cloud environments. In addition, it allows Alcatel-Lucent to offer highly scalable object storage as a service.
 
Ceph supports the provisioning of CloudBand nodes within hours at a customer site to provide service providers with storage capabilities for building and managing their own clouds. Inktank’s team of Ceph experts will provide support for CloudBand customers, enabling them to maximize the benefits of the Ceph storage platform.
