It also supports 4TB disk drives, which can help reduce energy costs by as much as 25% per usable terabyte while contributing to space and energy efficiencies. Customers using the 4TB based XIV system can benefit from up to 25% less power consumption per usable terabyte than the 3TB based XIV system. They can also benefit from a reduction of up to 11% in price per usable terabyte over the 3TB based system, and up to 26% in price per usable terabyte over the 2TB based system. The 4TB based XIV systems provide up to 33% increased capacity in the same footprint compared to systems equipped with 3TB drives, while maintaining similar performance. Modules with 4TB drives include double the RAM size over 3TB systems, totaling 48GB RAM per module.
Key prerequisites
An order of a validly configured XIV Storage System Gen3 machine type 2810 or 2812, Model 214 must occur at the same time as an initial XIV Storage System Software V11.3.0 order.
