NAKIVO
Inc. launched a beta
program for NAKIVO
Backup and Replication v3.2.
It provides early access to the
upcoming version of the software featuring vCloud director support,
network acceleration, support for RHEL and SLES Linux OSs, improved
backup management, and other performance and reliability
improvements. All participants can receive a 10% discount on the
released product, have a chance to win a Google Nexus tablet, and can
provide direct input into product development.
Answering the need for a data
protection solution in a cloud environment, the company has added
support for vCloud Director in v3.2 Beta. It can backup and replicate
vCloud director vApps, recover files from vApp backups, as well as
recover VMs back into vApps.
WAN and LAN links are often slow or
have limited bandwidth, driving the need to optimize network
utilization with technology that can reduce network traffic. This
solution provides network acceleration with compression and traffic
reduction techniques, which enable 2x faster backup and replication,
as well as recovery of VMs and files from local and offsite backups.
In addition to supporting latest
Windows Server and Ubuntu Linux editions, it supports Red Hat
Enterprise Linux and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. Shops with only
RHEL and SLES can install and operate this solution without the need
to deploy and maintain a different OS type.
The beta release offers data protection
features for virtualized environments, including local and offsite VM
backup and replication, support for live applications and databases
(Microsoft AD, Exchange, SQL, Oracle, etc.), file level recovery from
local and offsite backups, dedupe, encryption, as well as scheduled
and on-demand reporting.
"After receiving excellent
feedback from our Alpha participants, we are excited to release
NAKIVO Backup & Replication v3.2 Beta," said Bruce
Talley, CEO and co-founder, NAKIVO. "Together with VMware
professionals – including vExperts, VCPs, and VCIs – we are
developing the best product for the virtualization data protection
market."
