Colt
Technology Services Group, has announced Colt Cloud Storage for resellers, a cloud-based storage solution
across Europe.
The service provides resellers with the
ability to offer customers storage, with no upfront investments.
It enables customers in any European
country to store and access their data from data centres in the UK,
France, Spain and Germany. It offers the flexibility of adjusting
storage needs as business requirements change, removing the need for
upfront capital outlay on storage hardware.
According to the company, the service
is available to order across Europe from Colt’s go-to-market partners
Arrow Electronics Inc.
(through its cloud service portal ArrowSphere)
and Avnet
Technology Solutions. Resellers can order the service from these
distributors, and will receive an online user experience which allows
them to manage their applications and consumption once they are
provisioned.
It also gives resellers the option to
provide and manage their applications and data management services
for their customers, backed by cloud-based storage, allowing them to
maximise the additional value they can offer to mid-sized companies,
the company said.
Based on EMC Atmos technology, the
service supports a range of applications from a variety of different
technology vendors, including Symantec, EMC and Iomega.
"The launch of our new solution
represents a further move into the fast-growing cloud infrastructure
market for Colt, and builds on our position and expertise as one of
the most extensive cloud services providers in Europe," said
Gary Moore, distribution director, Colt. "When it comes to
accessing stored data, reliable network connectivity is vital. Our
wholly-owned long distance pan-European network and data centre
estate offers unrivalled levels of security, reliability and reach
across Europe which means that resellers and customers of Colt Cloud
Storage can be confident in the quality of the services they will
receive, backed by strict SLAs."
