Mushkin, Inc. announced its Scorpion Deluxe PCIe SSD alongside its Pacific Rim Sweepstakes which will run from June 5, 2013 until August 17, 2013.

Prizes offered include a home theater system valued at $3,500 and a new Razer Blade Pro Gaming Laptop valued at $2,299, in addition to a limited edition Mushkin themed PC and Mushkin/Pacific Rim prize packs.

"Mushkin's Pacific Rim sweepstakes definitely appeals to our audience on a variety of levels and provides our consumers with the chance to win some amazing prizes," said Nicolas Villalobos, director of global marketing, Mushkin. "Alongside this campaign we are excited to launch our latest Scorpion Deluxe line of SSDs. Our customers can now manage data faster, safer and more efficiently. Whether for digital content creation, virtualization, database acceleration, motion picture visual effects or your own application, the Mushkin Scorpion Deluxe PCIe SSD is always ready."

The Scorpion PCIe SSD was conceived to offer multimedia designers performance and a scalable 4-way format. With up to 21,000MB/s throughput and 100,000 4K random write IO/s, the Scorpion PCIe is for the digital effects arena. It will come in 240GB, 480GB, 960GB and 1,920GB capacities.

"An insane amount of image data is required to produce motion picture visual effects," said VFX award-winning, Kelly Lee Myers, CG supervisor on Iron Sky. "SSD storage devices like Muskin's Scorpion Deluxe PCIe provides artists with blazing-fast read and write speeds that reduce image editing and compositing tasks by several factors over and above spinning disc RAIDs. I count on Muskin hardware and will continue to do so in production."

The Scorpion PCIe SSD is available and the upcoming Scorpion Deluxe PCIe SSD will be available starting mid-June from authorized resellers and distributors.
