FileLockers With London-Based Cloud Storage and Sharing Solution

FileLocker
(Infrascale Inc.) will begin offering its file sharing solution, hosted in
its UK-based data centre, on July 1, 2013.

This puts the company on the list of
firms offering hosting for their file sharing services inside the
European Union, specifically the UK, enabling compliance
with the data protection act.

The company offers the option of
hosting privately in clients’ own data centres or on-premise servers.
This method is tailored for firms who must own the hardware on which
they host their cloud-based applications. However, smaller
enterprises may not wish to invest in hardware for on-premise
deployments. For firms that must store data within UK,
but do not wish to deploy their own on-premise server, it will host
its solution in a London-based data centre. The service retails at £6 per user per month.

Secure File Sharing inside the
UK
The service employs end-to-end
encryption from desktop to cloud to keep information safe. Files are
protected before leaving a device with a personal passphrase known
only to the account-holder, transferred over a 256-bit SSL
connection, encrypted again and then stored in the cloud. Also, files
are kept for an unlimited amount of time and past version can be
restored (unlimited versioning).

The UK data centres offers physical
security features required for storage. These include: 24/7
surveillance, biometric credential checks, backup generators,
temperature and humidity controls.

Experts
The service was created by Infrascale,
whose technology powers over one-thousand cloud storage brands,
including SOS Online
backup. During its development cycle, the technology has been put
to use by over a million individual and company accounts and shared
over a billion files.
