Tegile Systems, Inc., a provider of hybrid storage arrays for virtualized
server and virtual desktop environments, announced that it has opened an office
in the UK, extending the global rollout of its Zebi storage arrays to Europe
and beyond.
The company has hired former Dell/EqualLogic executive Paul Silver to head the
new office as VP, EMEA.
Silver has a 20-year record in sales and sales management, over-achieving sales goals for storage, telecommunications and
other IT companies. He has established a reputation as a start-up specialist
who excels in building sales organizations, developing and
executing channel programs and distribution strategies. He joins from desktop virtualization vendor GreenBytes, where he was also VP
EMEA. He previously held a similar position with EqualLogic and started their
business in EMEA until the acquisition by Dell for $1.4 billion and beyond.
"I could not have hoped to find a
more perfect fit than Tegile to build the next sales success story,"
said Silver. "With a hugely
disruptive product offering at the intersection of solid state storage and
virtualization, Tegile’s no-compromise storage technology is poised for an
unlimited success in Europe."
"Our European operation is in very
capable hands with Paul Silver coming on board to lead our efforts in Europe
and beyond," said Justin Cheen, VP sales at Tegile. "It speaks to the excellence of the executive
team and the market potential of our Zebi array technology that Tegile was able
to attract an executive of Paul’s stature to head our expansion into Europe."
Tegile has experienced European traction for its hybrid and all flash arrays,
with its most recent customer, a large, national Irish airline. The airline has
installed a Zebi HA2800 solid state array at its HQs’ data
center where the company is using the technology as the foundation of
their virtual servers, SQL databases and virtual desktop platform. The
array enabled the airline to meet its seemingly incongruous objectives
of controlling storage costs while driving storage performance to unprecedented
levels.
Tegile’s new European office is located at 25 Floral Street, Covent Garden, London WC2E 9DS, UK.
