This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 14, 2013 at 2:58 pmIceWEB, Inc. announced three IceBOX-based appliances to its hardware portfolio, the S1200, S2200, and the S2250.
"These appliances advance our cloud services another step beyond secure collaboration. We’re delivering a level of sophistication that advanced customers need today," said Rob Howe, CEO of IceWEB.
"The three new appliances have been engineered to meet the growing demands of the BYOD marketplace," said Gaurang Mehta, CTO of IceWEB. "We have built a series of platforms meeting the needs of any size customer with the flexibility to deliver robust and secure file-sharing and collaboration features at a competitive price. Customers expressed concern about losing control of their data and their data being compromised in the public cloud environment. Our IceBOX solution addresses those concerns by enabling our customers to setup and configure a Private Digital cloud while maintaining control over their corporate data assets. In addition, our IceBOX appliance solutions can be easily setup for off-site replication, further protecting those corporate data assets."
The S2250 delivers 16TB of storage coupled with IceCACHE, a series of SSD-based read and write cache mechanisms. The private-cloud appliance allows customers to dynamically scale capacity to meet the growing demand for BYOD-based file sharing and collaboration.
Both the S2250 and S2200 include the cloud replication capabilities for backup and DR purposes.
The entry-level system, the S1200, provides customers with a quick, simple-to-use appliance that can be up and running in under an hour. The S1200 comes standard with the IceBOX software and 1TB of data capacity, for the small customer requiring simple file sharing and collaboration coupled with the use of mobile devices for access.
