Aleratec
Inc. introduced the 1:4
HDD Copy Dock Basic USB 3.0, a 5-bay 2.5"/3.5" SATA HDD
USB 3.0 duplicator and docking station.
The unit simplifies the chore of
accessing, cloning and backing up HDD drives and also functions as a
HDD dock.
Similar in design to the company’s 1:1
HDD Copy Dock USB 3.0 (part number 350123), it expands HDD
duplication to four and accesses five drives at once when used as a
docking station.
"We took all the features
customers loved about our 1:1 Copy Dock and created a unit that can
do even more," notes Perry Solomon, Aleratec president and
CEO. "Whether you’re an IT professional or computer
enthusiast, the 1:4 HDD Copy Dock Basic will make cloning and
accessing HDD drives a lot easier and a lot faster."
The dock is compatible with Windows
2000/XP/Vista/7/8, Linux, and Mac OS10.3 or later.
Other features include:
- Sector-by-sector standalone cloning to
up to 4 targets;
- One-button clone operation;
- Progress bar for monitoring status;
- HDD access by USB 3.0 or USB 2.0
The unit doesn’t require a computer. It needs a single button to begin
cloning. Sector-by-sector copies, including partition and boot sector
information, result in HDD clones and backups, while a progress bar
monitors the status. Access to up to five drives is painless. Users
need to connect the unit to a PC or Mac via a USB 2.0 or via
the included USB 3.0 cable and flip a switch.
The device
does not require any additional software.
