Interscape
Technologies Inc. announces two SAN/NAS/DAS services as part of
its ‘expert inclusive’ Perfonics-based Performance
Analysis as a Service offerings.
The services include storage hot-spot
and bottleneck analysis and server level I/O bottleneck analysis.
Performance Analysis As a Service is a cloud-based offering focused
on providing analysis, capacity planning, troubleshooting,
consolidation modeling, migration planning, capacity planning,
trending and forecasting for multi-vendor SAN and NAS storage
infrastructures.
"We are very excited to
announce these two key storage services. At a cost of less than three
people days these ‘expert inclusive’ Interscape offerings provide
significant value to end-user Enterprise storage groups, Storage
services providers and Resellers.", said Alok Jain, founder
and CEO of Interscape. "The Hot-Spot &
Bottleneck Analysis helps in identifying key issues in a storage
infrastructure by providing a proactive solution which reduces
reactive-fires & downtime. The Server Level IO bottleneck is
aimed at identifying key storage latency issues at the Host Levels."
The hot-spot and bottleneck analysis is
a proactive approach to reducing reactive fires and storage
infrastructure downtime by pin-pointing unbalanced load due to
fan-out or I/O load distribution. It can identify hot-spots at disk
adapter or physical disk levels, hot-spots at RAID group or storage
pool levels and bottlenecks due to 100% utilization at
front-end/back-end/disk-levels. Key metrics are identified that are
causing the bottleneck using component level heat charts. (e.g IO/s,
MBPS, cache-hits, write-pending, read vs. write, sequential vs.
random, block sizes & IO queues)
The server-level IO bottleneck analysis
provides details around IO latency issues within the server. It can
also help baseline IO load across storage devices, I/O queues, R/W IO
profiles, block size distribution and other host level metrics.
Performance analysis as a service
approach is implemented using the company methodology based on a tool
called Perfonics. This methodology provides a hands-off model; there
is no software, agents or appliance needed to be installed and no
skill-sets are needed by customer. Customers provide the OEM tools
data collected in their environment or run well-known native storage
and server commands/scripts. Once the collected data is uploaded on
to the company cloud, analytic reports are generated and provided via
reporting dash board. Customers can take advantage of our ‘expert
inclusive’ services to get an understanding of the issues that will
help them decide on the corrective actions.
Hot-spot and
bottleneck analysis starts at $2,450 for 5TB/5 hosts. Server level IO
bottleneck analysis starts at $950 for a single host.
