eFolder Unveils Backup and DR Appliances for StorageCraft ShadowProject

eFolder
Inc. announced the availability of the eFolder
BDR for ShadowProtect.
This generation of appliances builds
upon over two and half years of BDR deployments for the company and
StorageCraft. The service is a backup and DR appliance that bundles ShadowProtect software and is pre-configured to work
with the eFolder cloud. The hardware, software, and cloud services
bundle provides both on-site and off-site backup and recovery, along
with cloud-based recovery in the company continuity cloud. For MSPs,
solution providers, and VARs utilizing ShadowProtect software, it
supplies the pieces partners need to build a BC service,
including a backup and recovery appliance; access to competitive
ShadowProtect software licensing; backup and recovery in the eFolder
cloud; and integration with the partner portal for centralized
monitoring and alerting.
This generation of BDR appliances
implements hardware and software enhancements that help partners
deliver BC services. The BDRs incorporate enterprise HDDs for
performance and reliability even within challenging environmental
conditions. It feature the latest Xeon processors, memory and
storage configurations, and field upgradability.
It enable MSPs and
VARs to backup locally and perform on-site virtualization for up to
48 servers with a single appliance in the maximum configuration. With
both tower and rack mount models to choose from, MSPs and VARs can
meet the needs of both small businesses and mid-sized clients alike.
Field upgradeability enables partners to right-size initial
deployments, while still being able to accommodate unexpected future
growth. The second generation of BDR appliances comes standard with
Windows Storage Server 2012, ShadowProtect 5,
StorageCraft ImageManager 6, and eFolder Backup version 3.8.
Together, ImageManager and eFolder Backup enable the use of the
rolling consolidation capability, allowing partners to better control
cloud storage utilization and reduce ongoing operating expenses.
