Buffalo Introduces Updated TeraStation Utilizing Windows Server 2012

Buffalo
Technology Inc. launched its last TeraStation
Windows Storage Server range, built on the TeraStation 5000
platform and utilizing Windows Server 2012.

The 2-bay (WS5200D), 4-bay (WS5400D)
and 6-bay (WS5600D) devices provide users with a combination of RAID-based NAS, storage capacity of up to 24TB
and Windows Server OS. Tailored for integration with
all Windows computers, devices and servers.

Integration with the Windows Server
2012 environment ensures the Buffalo WSS devices are packed with
features such as, NOVA Backup Essentials and iSCSI Target 3.3, which
optimises storage related tasks for SMB office
environments. Businesses can benefit from high levels of
scalability and reliability through the Resilient File System, while
the scheduled shut down feature ensures businesses save on energy
costs.

The devices incorporate the Atom
Dual-Core D2550 Processor and 4GB of fast DDR3 memory installed. They
are designed to guard against device failures and prevent downtime
with two, four or six swappable drives. They also ensure management
of companies’ datacentre and private clouds, while also linking to
public cloud services and connecting users to IT resources.

Users are provided with Active
Directory integration, which enables access management, policies and
security that allows networks to automate access and manage storage
in the same manner as Windows Server. This is complemented by a
choice of storage protocols and the ability to access a host of
applications, such as Hyper-V and SQL.

The TeraStation WS5200D comes populated
with either 4TB or 8TB capacity, the TeraStation WS5400D is
populated with 4TB, 8TB or 12TB capacity and the TeraStation
WS5600D is populated with either 12TB or24TB capacity.
