Vello Systems Data Center Gateway Qualified by EMC E-Lab

For VPLEX Metro, VMAX and VNX

Vello Systems, Inc.,
in open networking solutions, announced that
the its CX networking system has been qualified by EMC E-Lab, for EMC VPLEX
Metro, EMC VMAX, and EMC VNX storage systems.

The E-Lab qualification opens the way for customers with Vello’s networking
systems to support continuous availability and DR for mission-critical
applications in VPLEX, VMAX and VNX storage systems environments.

E-Lab is a standard for server,
networking and storage interoperability. The qualification testing
performed gives customers confidence that E-Lab qualified Vello
solutions will integrate with EMC systems. In addition, E-Lab creates and
publishes its knowledge of complete environments and individual
components of solutions.

"We are
very pleased that Vello CX is qualified by EMC E-Lab,
" commented Karl
May, CEO of Vello Systems. "The
Vello CX networking system, used in combination with EMC’s industry-leading
VPLEX, VMAX and VNX storage systems, allows customers to build highly flexible,
cost-effective and continuously available connectivity between storage clusters
while reducing complexity.
"

The E-Lab qualification of CX for VPLEX
Metro makes available a solution that gives storage administrators tighter
control of their storage federation and replication flows between their
distributed data centers. With Vello’s open, programmable OS, VellOS, and the
deterministic performance of the Vello CX, customers can achieve data mobility
and continuous availability along with point-in-time data protection.

Inclusive of prior
qualification, the Vello CX supports
the following EMC virtual storage
and data
replication solutions:

  • VPLEX Metro (FC,
FC over IP and native IP)
  • RecoverPoint
  • Symmetrix Remote Data Facility (SRDF) software, including synchronous
    (SRDF/S) and asynchronous (SRDF/A)
  • Open Replicator

Collaborative Customer Support
EMC and Vello also have a cooperative support agreement, enabling Vello and EMC to work together to provide support to joint
customers. Vello has also joined TSANet, Inc.,
the nonprofit organization that brings together
technology companies to work together to provide responsive collaborative
support for multi-vendor customer networks.
