Plextor Showcased SSDs at Last CeBiT

Plextor, brand of storage and multimedia products owned by Shinano Kenshi of Japan demonstrated its new SSD solutions at recently held largest ICT trade in Hannover, Germany.
 
It showcased its M.2 (also known as NGFF – Next Generation Form Factor) SSD solution, which is a small flash drive with a size of 42 (L) x 22 (W) x 2.3 (H) mm, the M.2 that is smaller than existing mSATA models and be it can a well-fitted upgrade for ultrabooks.
 
The new Plextor M.2 solutions has a sequential read and write speed of 500/400 MB/s and a random R/W speed of 70,000/70,000 IO/s. Both 128GB and 256GB version will be available. They will be available as integration solution for OEM partners first and will become later available for the retail channel. More details will be announced at Computex show this year.
 
The company also displayed the capabilities of its M5 Pro Xtreme SSD solutions by demonstrating TrueSpeed feature keeping the performance of the M5 Pro stable under clean drive settings and dirty drive settings (capacity filled up to 97%).
 
Additionally a RAID-0 demonstration with two 512GB drives showed the M5 Pro can achieve performance of over 1,000Mb/s in sequential read performance when used in this configuration.
 
Plextor did well at daily Overclocking event organized by ASRock featuring World’s top Overclockers: Nick Shih, SF3D, and Perica Barii to show their overclocking skills. They overclocked A10-5800K APUs up to 7.5 GHz on ASRock FM2A85X Extreme6, using 128GB M5 Pro Xtreme were also adjudged Plextor as the best SSD drives.
