Promise RAID Vess R2000 Series Replacing VessRAID 1000

PROMISE Technology, Inc. announced the availability of a single controller models of the Vess R2000 storage system.

They are for users with tight budget constraints or for non-mission critical applications that do not require full redundancy, like data archiving and backup.

The new single controller models and the entire Vess R2000 Series are now VMware, Citrix and Hyper-V certified, enabling customers to build flexible, reliable and scalable environments with virtualization platforms.

The Vess R2000 models replace the VessRAID 1000 Series and bring advantages to customers in performance, flexibility, and reliability. With both FC and iSCSI host connectivity, they deliver faster throughput which on average is twice as fast as the 1000 Series. Customers have the option to upgrade to dual controllers as their needs evolve with the ‘Controller Upgrade Kit’ and with support for 4TB HDDs customers can scale each single storage node up to 448TB of raw capacity through cascading JBOD expansion units. In addition, with certification for virtualization platforms, the Vess R2000 can be used to reduce IT expenses while improving efficiency and agility.

Introduced to provide SMBs of all sizes a performance, cost effective storage solution, the Vess R2000 delivers technologies, including PerfectRebuild, a feature which reduces the time required for the array to transition from degraded to healthy status and Advanced Battery Flash Backup which delivers enhanced reliability in the protection of valuable business data. Additionally, customers who plan to upgrade to the Vess R2000 Series can directly move the HDD from their VessRAID 1000 to the Vess R2000 making data migration a convenient process.
