This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 16, 2013 at 2:59 pmData Watch Technologies Co. Ltd. has added to its DataTale product line with the launch of the DataTale RS-M4T SMART Thunderbolt RAID system, a 4-bay Thunderbolt RAID data management solution for enterprise users and A/V professionals.
The DataTale RS-M4T will be available in the USA through Oyen Digital, LLC.
The RS-M4T provides JBOD, RAID-0, RAID-1, RAID-10, and HyperDuo in combination with Thunderbolt technology for a powerful and flexible RAID solution.
"Thunderbolt delivers unparalleled performance, flexibility and simplicity to personal computing," said Jason Ziller, Intel Corp.‘s director of Thunderbolt marketing, "Products like the DataTale RS-M4T SMART Thunderbolt RAID system help highlight what Thunderbolt makes possible."
With speeds up to 12 times faster than FireWire 800 and twice as fast as USB 3.0, the unit features RAID configuration, hot-swappable functionality, and two Thunderbolt ports for convenience when daisy-chaining with other Thunderbolt devices.
The patented SmartGuider is a trayless fixing mechanism that equips auto-limiting segmented screws to prevent HDD/SSD damage from over-tightening when they are installed. It also positions the drives upright to maximize airflow while exhausting heat via surrounding vents.
The RS-M4T RAID system is compatible with SSDs and conventional HDDs in the same system via the HyperDuo mode. This mode allows the RS-M4T RAID to become a hybrid unit to bring out the best performance in both HDD and SSDs.
"We’re excited to offer this ground-breaking RAID system from Data Watch. The high-build quality and remarkable speeds will be a great asset to our high-demand enterprise clients," said Steve Oyen of Oyen Digital. "The DataTale Thunderbolt RAID is precisely what video and audio professionals have been looking for – an affordable, multi-bay Thunderbolt RAID enclosure."
