These systems are designed to meet the needs of production and post-production facilities with a large throughput of Avid projects, particularly broadcasters.
The Avid Archive Solution based upon Marquis Broadcasting’s Project Parking, now provides a cost effective archive storage device to free up edit storage space, transfer projects from one site to another and create version snapshots of projects.
Available configurations using professional Blu-Ray technology are certified to provide reliability and accuracy of data for 50+ years.
Marquis Project Parking software takes a snapshot of Avid projects, including bins, sequences, and GUI layouts, along with every piece of reference media, and archives a copy onto any storage device. These projects can then be browsed and restored.
Euroson solutions integrate archive storage using the virtual file systems of PoINT Software & Systems GmbH. Its file system provides Project Parking with connectivity to all PoINT Software applications including Jukebox Manager, Archiver and Storage Manager. All contemporary archive storage technologies and devices are directly supported, including LTO tape libraries and autoloaders, Blu-Ray libraries and publishing systems. Additional features include a policy-based method of identifying data to be archived, and the PoINT TAFS file system which replaces original files with links to the archive providing Avid Media Access.
Optical storage libraries and publishing systems, incorporating Pioneer PR-1 professional drives and MKM archive grade media, provide BluRay media solutions with accuracy and certified 50+ year storage life.
By providing a solution for managing Avid media as projects users are able to archive and transport entire projects quickly and easily. This solution also offers the capacity, portability and accessibility, which make it for DR, BC and inter-site workflows.
"In today’s world of ever growing content broadcasters are faced with the challenge of preserving projects for indefinite periods while optimizing available Avid storage," said Kevin Byrne, president of Euroson. "Euroson understands this challenge and offers a complete solution using Project Parking and PoINT software to integrate contemporary archive storage technologies into the process."
The solutions are available from Euroson as software only solutions as well as complete pre-configured NAS systems including a range of archive storage devices.
