New features include native/secure Linux connectivity for data analysis and migration, enhanced transfer performance, and support for Linux symbolic links with automatic symbolic link creation after successful file migration to StorHouse. With these new features, StorHouse/Trusted Edge builds on the platform’s rich support for Windows (CIFS-based) environments – making the platform capable of analyzing storage utilization, automating file migration and cost-optimizing file availability from diverse platforms across the enterprise.

"As a data management company, FileTek maintains a comprehensive roadmap for making our products more feature-rich and easier to integrate into customer environments," commented Gary Szukalski, president of FileTek. "The new Trusted Edge Linux connectivity, Linux native symbolic link, and performance enhancement features are endemic to that technology plan. These new software capabilities expand the Trusted Edge user base to Linux-based environments and facilitate a broader set of data transfers for existing Trusted Edge installations. StorHouse/Trusted Edge 1.3 will help FileTek offer faster, more efficient operation and lower-cost per TB solutions for big storage problems."

About StorHouse/Trusted Edge
It is an intelligent content analysis and migration management software for moving less active forever-read data from primary storage to a more cost-effective StorHouse data management system. It supports a graphical interface for analyzing existing primary storage allocations and asset distribution prior to migration and a policy creation/execution engine for moving, linking, verifying, and reporting on migrated content. FileTek also offers the StorHouse/Trusted Edge Enterprise Edition, an optional Trusted Edge component that includes all standard Trusted Edge migration management features plus the ability to administer and see a global view of multiple Trusted Edge servers from a single GUI.

StorHouse/Trusted Edge takes the guess work out of defining an efficient data migration strategy. The software’s analysis features enable administrators to evaluate existing primary storage locations and access patterns according to numerous criteria and then create/execute automated migration, backup, replication, reporting, and synchronization polices that promote data availability, security, and cost-effective post-migration operation, including reclaiming expensive primary storage and reducing the amount of operational data requiring backup.

About StorHouse
StorHouse is a storage virtualization and data management platform that blends disk, tape, and the cloud as part of a scaled-out NAS environment while providing an intelligent backup strategy for big data. Because it abstracts hardware, users see a single unified global namespace rather than specific device types. SSD, JBOD, RAID, MAID, and tape, including LTO varieties, all look like one unlimited storage pool. And by writing data in native rather than proprietary file format, StorHouse eliminates formal restore procedures and gives users self-service access to all data at any time without IT intervention. No application interfaces or changes to existing applications are required. Other features include CIFS and NFS connections and security, system automation for ease of use, automatic content validation/repair to eliminate silent corruption/bit rot problems, LTFS support, and individual backup file deletes on any media, including tape.
