Scottish Start-Up Bulldog Backup in Cloud Storage Now Also in Hardware
1TB NAS in RAID-1 or -10
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 28, 2013 at 2:59 pmStart-up founded in 2010, Bulldog Backup Ltd., a Scottish-based online backup and storage provider, gave their seal of approval to World Backup Day 2013 by announcing their World Backup Day deals along with an announcement which sees them enter the hardware market.
World Backup Day is the creation of a determined band of reddit, inc.‘s users who’s mission is to promote the backup of computer data across the globe. It’s a cause that Bulldog Backup’s CEO, Dougie Fisher is firmly behind. "For me World Backup Day is a chance to right the wrongs of the past and get some form of backup system in place. It’s a gentle reminder that whilst you may have made it this far without taking backups there is a good chance that at some point you will be affected by data loss."
Backing up your data has become so easy there really is no excuse not to do it. Bulldog Backup’s software works on both PC and Mac and epitomises simplicity with it’s ‘fire and forget’ features. Even the novice computer user can be on their way to securing their precious documents, photos and videos in under five minutes. Having a backup plan needn’t be expensive either. Bulldog Backup provide everything you need to backup your computer to their secure cloud for less than $5 a month.
The CEO also announced the company’s new physical backup device, The Bulldog Box. "We had been talking for a while about a NAS device which customers could leverage to backup locally as well as off-site to our cloud platform. This is of particular use in business environments where you may require fast restores."
The idea is that because the parts of the Bulldog Box are available off the shelf the company will open source the configurations allowing anyone to build one. That said the Bulldog Backup website will be offering these boxes at a subsidised rate with any backup plans starting from the 15th of April 2013.
The Bulldog Box is a 1TB NAS device running in either RAID-1 or -10 depending on configuration. Full specifications and parts lists will be available on the Bulldog Backup website from April 15, 2013.
Bulldog Backup will be running two offers to promote World Backup Day, the first is a straight 30% discount on all Protect Plans which you can claim by entering the code ‘bullwbd1320’ at the checkout.
The second is the chance to win a Bulldog Box NAS device with all new customers from the 21st of March to the 1st of May 2013 entered into a prize draw. Winner to be announced on the 15th of May 2013 on the company’s blog.
