This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 14, 2013 at 2:45 pmActifio, Inc. has appointed Brian Reagan as VP of product strategy.
He will lead the continued advancement of Actifio’s copy data storage platform, which lets organizations recover data instantly for up to 90% less than traditional backup and recovery tools. He will also play a role in Actifo’s global business development effort, with a specific emphasis on overseeing large-scale enterprise and MSP opportunities.
Reagan joins Actifio just after the company closed FY2012 with 700% year-over-year growth, emerging as a fast growing enterprise storage company. Other recent accolades include Actifio being named one of the 50 most promising companies in America by Forbes magazine, and its best-selling copy data storage platform receiving Storage Magazine‘s ‘Product of the Year’ award.
Recently, IDC estimated the magnitude of the copy problem to be over $44 billion in infrastructure hardware and software spending alone, representing a market opportunity for industry front-runner Actifio.
"We are thrilled to add Brian to our world-class management team as we help CIOs better cope with the massive storage explosion within the enterprise," said Actifio CEO Ash Ashutosh. "Actifio has quickly become the world’s best platform to manage this data explosion. By simplifying IT architectures and slashing recovery times to seconds, we intend to capture a significant share of the $44 billion now being spent on legacy backup and recovery tools. With an experienced enterprise technology leader like Brian leading our product strategy effort, we will continue to drive disruptive innovation that puts the interests of customers above that of the legacy storage vendors."
Reagan has over 20 years of experiencing bringing technology solutions to market. Before joining Actifio, he was CTO for IBM’s BC and Resiliency Services division as well as CMO for Xiotech, where he reshaped the company’s brand and product family. Previously, he was CMO for Arsenal Digital Solution, in the cloud-based data protection space that was acquired by IBM. He also spent eight years in senior global marketing and strategy roles at EMC, joining that company after leading an online services development team at MCI Telecommunications.
Reagan started his career in IT consulting, primarily serving clients in the financial services, pharmaceutical and government sectors.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences from Bennington College as well as an MBA from George Mason University.
"I am thrilled to join Actifio, particularly at the dawn of the industry’s understanding of the magnitude of the copy data problem. We can help customers tame the storage explosion and dramatically improve the quality and speed of enterprises worldwide," said Reagan. "In the coming year, we will release new solutions that will go a step further in managing voluminous data growth while significantly reducing data recovery times. Expect to see significant and ongoing product innovation from us over the next 24 months."
