Spyrus Bringing Out USB 3.0 Secure Flash Key

Protected by a XTS-AES 256-bit hardware encryption

Spyrus
Inc.
announced the availability of PocketVault 3X, a portable USB
3.0 encrypting SSD featuring the same hardware encrypting security
designed into their Windows To Go certified USB 3.0 SSD drives.

This
latest member of the family of USB encrypting devices incorporates
military-level hardware security to provide use-anywhere,
high-performance USB storage drive. Like the USB 2.0 PocketVault
P-384, it provides cross-platform portability of data providing
support for Windows, Mac OSX, Linux and mobile OSs. Secured By Spyrus
technology implements the cryptographic base used by the U.S. government to protect data at rest. During disk encryption,
every sector of the device’s memory is protected with the XTS-AES
256-bit hardware encryption mode recommended by IEEE 1669 and
referenced by the NIST SP800-38E standard.

It uses the Rosetta
Micro hardware security module that is built into all the company
encrypting USB product lines for management and is designed to meet
FIPS 140-2 Level 2 and Level 3 specifications to protect user data
against unauthorized access to the device.

Unlike other
use-anywhere encrypting USB flash drives, the proprietary key
management technology used never stores a copy of your password
anywhere – not on your drive or on a network storage device where
your information can be at risk from internal or external attacks.

Additional authentication and data security applications using the
Rosetta Micro onboard PocketVault 3X SSD will be released to be
compatible with PocketVault Encryptor applications used on Android,
Surface RT, Surface Pro and iPad.

It can also be used as a
separate, secondary secure data storage device with the Spyrus Secure
Pocket Drive that boots Windows Embedded Standard 7 or Linux, or with
the Secure Portable Workplace and Portable Workplace Windows To Go
Certified USB 3.0 drives. When used in this manner, it can provide
the benefits of increased SSD memory capacities to 100GB and
performance for productivity applications.
