Sans Digital, Inc. announces that it’s line of compact rack mountable enclosures for 2.5-inch HDDs have reached performance tests of over 30Gb/s or 3,000 MB/s using dual 6G SAS connections on the EliteSTOR 1U 8-bay ES108X+B, ES108X6+B, ES216X6+B and ES224X6+B enclosure together with the LSI-9286-8E (external SAS RAID controller) and 8 x OCZ Deneva 240GB SATA-III SSDs (D2CSTK251M21-0240).

Based on the EliteSTOR product line, the 2.5-inch HDD enclosure solutions features redundant hot-swappable power supplies, hot-swappable HDD trays, and more enterprise level features. Capable housing anywhere from 8, 16, or 24, 2.5inch SATA, SAS, or SSD HDDs on a single compact enclosure, the EliteSTOR 2.5-inch rackmounts offers ingenuity, reliability, and performance at competitive price point.

They are all SAS JBOD rackmounts for capacity storage solution designed for 2.5" HDDs with up to 15mm in height. Utilizing the SAS and 6G SAS expander technology (6G SAS Expander available on the ES108X6+B, ES216X6+B, and ES224X6+B models only) provides speeds of over 24Gb/s 2,400MB/s of bandwidth to fulfill demanding applications. The built-in 6G SAS expander allow for multiple daisy chained EliteSTOR rackmounts, and single or dual cable connections to the host (dual SAS cables allows for faster performance and added HA). Also included are fan, voltage and temperature monitoring and alarms for instant live notifications. They support 2.5" SATA, SAS 6Gbps, and 6G SATA/SAS SSD and are also backwards compatible with 3Gbps 2.5-inch HDDs. All hardware comes standard including mini-SAS cable, HDDs tray modules and built-in mounting rail for 2U and up. The EliteSTOR 2.5" HDD enclosures isa storage expansion solution for servers or high performance video editing workstations.

The EliteSTOR 1U, 8-bays, JBODs consist of ES108X+B (SAS/SATA to 2 mini-SAS), ES108X6+B (SAS/ SATA to SAS expansion) which gives the customer the choice of non-expandable or expandable SAS connections for their SAS or SATA 2.5" HDDs. For the larger capacity EliteSTOR 2U 16-bay JBOD consist of the ES216X6+B SAS/SATA to SAS Expander and the 2U 24-bay ES224X6+B SAS/SATA to SAS Expander. Both JBOD enclosures come standard with SAS expansion capabilities which enable the user to daisy chain multiple units providing a way to expand existing capacity.
