Paragon
Software Group strengthened its business strategy to support SMBs
and redefine its portfolio to address SMBs’ backup, recovery and
storage maintenance needs through enterprise functionality and
pricing models.
This orientation towards SMBs
reinforces the company’s commitment to deliver a
feature set enabling SMBs to handle all data
management tasks on-site and from a single interface.
"The TCO of a piece of software
is crucial for establishments of any size," says Konstantin
Komarov, CEO of Paragon Software Group. "Entrepreneurs want
to make a single investment and be sure that their money is being
used for a future-proofed product that doesn’t have any gaps in its
functionality and that dependably handles all tasks from a single
interface. The price structure and the scope of functionality of
these new editions are both perfectly tailored to the needs of SMBs
that are budget-conscious and have a limited IT administration
staff."
The Hard Disk Manager 12 Business
and Premium
Editions are software solutions for system administrators,
technicians, and IT consultants who need to make changes to the
configuration of storage devices without any data loss or downtime.
With this tool suite, administrators can perform image- and
file-based backup, bare-metal recovery to dissimilar hardware,
migration, partitioning, and permanent wiping when re- or
decommissioning physical servers and workstations.
Business vs Premium Editions
Hard Disk Manager 12 Business Edition
is a backup, DR and data storage maintenance tool for small
businesses with up to 100 machines. Along with its data management
features for workstations, the Business Edition also supports server
OS.
The Premium Edition combines Paragon’s
technologies and expertise in storage lifecycle management, data
protection, and sanitization within stand-alone physical and virtual
Windows environments. Along with the features included in the
Business Edition, the Premium Edition also connects to virtual disks,
allowing an administrator to manage any virtual disk on the network
with the same ease as a direct-attached physical disk. Virtual
environments can offer the solution for companies looking to combine
tasks around backup and DR, virtualization and migration, storage
management, and optimization. Built into the Premium Edition, the
ConnectVD technology enables an administrator to partition and manage
virtual disks in a ‘cold’ state and without an active hypervisor. In
addition, files and OSs on the virtual disk can be backed up and
migrated to other hardware environments.
Both editions come with a technician
licensing model that allows the use of the software on
workstations and servers. Designed to simplify technicians’ tasks,
the technician licensing model is free from constraints of license
agreements subject only to the restriction that the software must not
be used on two systems simultaneously.
The Business and Premium Editions
are available for $179 and $599, respectively. Paragon offers
three different technician licenses: Basic, Standard and Premium.
