Redis and Memcached Cloud ($375 for 5GB Plan)

Garantia Data Ltd., a provider of in-memory NoSQL cloud services, announced the pricing and general availability of its Redis Cloud and Memcached Cloud database hosting services.

These serve as a fully-automated, in-memory NoSQL cloud services offering Memcached and infinitely-scalable Redis data store systems. Garantia Data offers a pay-as-you-go pricing model by which users are charged according to the actual size of their datasets, measured in gigabytes per hour during a calendar month, rather than by cloud instances. This novel and simple model avoids the typical over-provisioning of expensive RAM resources and lets users pay for what they actually consume. Light users are offered a free 20MB plan, as well as multiple low-cost plans ranging from 0.1GB to 5GB, for a fixed monthly subscription fee.

Used by both enterprise developers and start-ups, Redis and Memcached are open source, RAM-based, key-value memory stores that provide worth in a range of use cases. They overcome Redis and Memcached limitations by delivering performance in a highly-available, infinitely scalable, predictable and stable manner. They free developers from dealing with nodes, clusters, scaling, data-persistence and failure recovery, while providing auto-scalability and instant failover.

Redis Cloud scales seamlessly and infinitely, so a Redis dataset can grow to any size while supporting all Redis commands.

Memcached Cloud offers a storage engine and replication capabilities to standard Memcached. Both provide high-availability, including instant failover without human intervention. In addition, they run a dataset on multiple CPUs and use techniques to maximize performance at any dataset size.

Redis Cloud and Memcached Cloud are available on AWS (U.S. East and EU (Ireland) West regions) and Windows Azure (U.S. East and U.S. West regions). Typical monthly subscriptions (Redis Cloud on AWS-U.S.-East) run from $8 for a 0.1GB plan to $375 for a 5GB plan.
