Nimble
Storage Inc. announced the opening of its first East Coast office
in North Carolina’s Research Technology Park.
As part of the company’s global
expansion plans, this office will provide access to hi-tech and
university talent; it will also enable Nimble Storage to further
service customers across the region. The office will house up to 100
employees focused on engineering, customer support and sales. Raleigh
is known for being one of the country’s largest and most successful
research parks, a major center in the U.S. for high-tech and biotech
research, and for being home to a number of colleges and universities
including Duke University, North Carolina State, University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill and Wake Forest University.
"This key investment in the
East Coast region enables Nimble Storage to further its leadership in
the global storage industry," said Suresh Vasudevan, CEO of
Nimble Storage. "We are pleased to be contributing to the
local economy and look forward to benefiting from the excellent
technology talent-pool of the Raleigh community."
The move to the East Coast follows the
recent expansion of the company into the Asia Pacific region, where
in the last six months it has added presence in Singapore and
Australia. Through its geographic expansion initiative, Nimble is
targeting regions where there is opportunity for growth and access to
hi-tech talent, and where businesses are turning to IT to transform
their operations and increase competitiveness.
The company develops a flash-optimized storage
architecture designed to leverage the best of flash performance and
the price/capacity of high-capacity HDDs. Simultaneously delivering performance and larger capacities at a lower price than
traditional storage systems, Nimble’s products continue to benefit
customers worldwide.
"It’s exciting to see a Silicon
Valley-based company expanding into Raleigh," said Chip
Tanner, senior systems architect at the Charlotte, NC, office of
Schaefer Systems International.
"With this new office, Nimble Storage continues its expansion
in a key East Coast technology hub and will provide companies like
ours with even easier access to its engineering, support and sales
teams."
