Scasicomp Revealing Backup-as-a-Service B-Zen Based on Symantec Backup Exec 3600 Appliances

Scasicomp
an integrator and architect of information protection solutions,
announced the launch of a back-up offer called B-ZEN,
which stands for Backup-Zone Extended Network.

Backup Exec 3600 appliances.

Backup-as-a-service
B-ZEN is a license-fee based solution
that allows the subscription to a range of externalized backup services that are available in
the form of packages.

It includes the backup infrastructure,
but also the consultancy, deployment, the support and the maintenance
that are related to it. It is based on the implementation of an
appliance that replaces the software and servers on the client’s
premises to carry out a disk-based backup. Production data are then
replicated towards an existing backup element: the Scasicomp’s data
center, located in France, and which complies with the security and
information confidentiality norms.

With this solution, the CAPEX is
suppressed and replaced with an OPEX pre-determined fee. The client
no longer has to take initial investments, nor dread possible risks
of over- or under-estimations of its backup infrastructure. The
subscription-based improves visibility into IT costs while
scalability according to current and future needs
allows a better understanding of how the infrastructure will need to evolve.

It enables organizations to leverage
their backup strategy as the pillar of their DR, driving more value
then a focus on use and management of cartridges.

Companies will also benefit from a data
management outsourcing solution with the SLA of Scasicomp while remaining in charge
and in command of their backup strategies and manage them as they want. Lastly,
customers can manage their information on remote sites safely.

Scasicomp, responsible for

Scasicomp guarantees the protection and
availability of the information managed. Its teams commits to RTO and
RPO SLAs, even in the case of a disaster. A detailed report on the
SLA management and the capacity planning of the Scasicomp data center
is provided to the client on a regular basis.

start of the project. B-ZEN was developed with flexibility and
modularity thanks to the Symantec Backup Exec 3600 appliances. As a
Symantec platinum partner and master specialist in data protection,
Scasicomp has selected the technology of Symantec, as their
‘plug-and-play’ appliances allow for flexibility in the management of
capacity extension. The support and maintenance is the responsibility
of Scasicomp’s customer services and support department, which has
Symantec’s highest certifications.

B-ZEN is available for a license fee
of €0,02 per secured GB (targeted volume) for a 36-month agreement.
