Orange Launches Small Business Storage Service

Powered by Ctera

CTERA Networks
Ltd
was selected by France Telecom-Orange
(FTE), a large telecom provider, to power its new storage service offered to
more than one million small business subscribers in France alone.

The solution, developed by CTERA, allows
Orange customers to securely store, share and backup files using a
cloud-enabled appliance that is installed locally at the customer premises and
managed from Orange’s Le Cloud Pro portal without the need for on-site IT
support.

"We
are seeing growing demand for hybrid local/cloud storage solutions, and wanted
to provide our customers with the best choice in storage technology,
"
said Luc Bretones, VP SMB market, Orange. "Together with our customers and partners, we built a suite of cloud
applications and on-demand services specifically tailored to the needs of SMBs
and SOHOs. Thanks to CTERA’s advanced technology, the new offering is
exceptionally simple to install, and integrates seamlessly with our Livebox Pro
router and Le Cloud Pro portal.
"

Users that subscribe to the service receive
a local storage appliance that automatically connects with single sign-on to
their existing Le Cloud Pro account. The service provides backup and file sharing
at local network speed, as well as remote web-based file access, and mobile
collaboration on iOS and Android devices. As a result, users can protect their
data and access it anywhere, anytime.

"Cloud-enabled
storage and backup services represent a major revenue opportunity for service
providers,
" said Hervé Bourgeois, VP, international sales, CTERA.
"We are thrilled to be selected by
Orange, one of the world’s leading telecommunications operators. This
initiative brings CTERA to millions of small businesses, and represents a key
milestone in our expansion in Europe.
