Box Partner Network Introduced

Sales growth of nearly 150% in 2012, 15 million users

Building on sales growth of nearly 150% in 2012, Box introduced the Box Partner Network, an ecosystem of strategic alliance, channel and platform partners that will extend cloud content and collaboration service into new markets and power the company’s expansion in 2013.

We are witnessing a once in a generation transition – post-PC devices and cloud applications are profoundly changing both the ways people work and how businesses buy and deploy technology, and it’s happening faster than anyone could have predicted,” said Aaron Levie, co-founder and CEO, Box. “Content and collaboration sit at the heart of almost every business process. With our growing network of partners and developers, Box has a huge opportunity to help businesses navigate this massive shift.

The introduction of the Box Partner Network follows Box’s most successful year to date, with several major customer wins, including Discovery Communications, Electronic Arts, Johnson Lambert LLP, McCann Worldgroup, MGM Resorts International, MRM, NBC Sports, Netflix, Nationwide, Sony Music, Sunbelt Rentals, and Random House, Inc. Box also saw adoption and growth in a variety of vertical industries. Sales in construction and engineering services grew 103%, education grew 119%, manufacturing grew 233% and media and entertainment grew 200%.

With Box, our global teams can easily collaborate and securely share information on any device, which is imperative in the client delivery space,” said Michel Sergio, EVP and director of global client operations, MRM. “Box’s platform is also very flexible with open APIs that are attracting powerful 3rd party applications, so that people can work in their preferred environment and in a way that feels natural for them.”

New Software Partners, Channel Program and Platform
The Box Partner Network is comprised of Box’s strategic alliances (which includes technical integrations), the Box Channel Program, and the Box Platform and API.

Box’s strategic alliance partners include several technology leaders, independent software vendors and systems integrators. Today, Box welcomed Autodesk, AtTask, Fonality, Marketo, CollabNet, Clarizen, TIBCO, Tidemark and Xero. Five new partners, including CollabNet, Clarizen, Fonality, TIBCO’s tibbr and Tidemark will leverage Box Embed, an HTML5 framework, first introduced in October 2012, to make it simple to integrate the complete Box content and collaboration experience into best of breed applications. These five partners join Box’s ten inaugural Embed partners announced at BoxWorks 2012. Autodesk, AtTask, Marketo and Xero will all integrate directly with the Box Platform.

The Box Channel Program has signed 50 resellers globally in the last four months, in addition to announcing a new North American distribution relationship with Ingram Micro Inc., the large technology distributor. Other key partners include CDW, Ahead, Insight, Forsythe and SoftChoice.

Box’s channel program leads the cloud SaaS market in benefits and compensation for resellers, offering recurring revenue terms, training and market development funding, and deal registration. The program is built on flexible partnership models, where partners can select the Box relationship that works best for them. For example, partners can choose to refer leads to Box and earn a commission for the first-year contract. Or they can resell Box and earn revenue for the life of an account.

The Box Platform also had a record year in 2012. More than 17,000 developers are building custom apps and integrating with the platform. Additionally, Box more than doubled the number of apps available in the Box app store and ended the year with more than 300 OneCloud applications across iOS and Android. Further, the number of weekly users accessing third party applications through Box OneCloud grew by more than 200%, placing Box at the center of a tidal wave of growth in productivity applications optimized for post-PC devices.

This approach keeps end-users organized and collaboration at its highest potential for increased output.”
