Addonics
Technologies Inc. announced the Cipher
RAID Rack and the Cipher
RAID Tower, two RAID storage solutions with AES 256-bit hardware
encryption for high capacity storage.
Cipher RAID Tower (CRT5SNHEU3)
Both products are tailored for securing
large volumes of information, data achieving or video recording.
The 1U Cipher RAID Rack is
designed to accommodate up to four 3.5" SATA HDDs
in a 1U Rack mount chassis.
The Cipher RAID Tower
accommodates up to five 3.5" SATA HDDs in a 4-bay
aluminum chassis for transportation.
Both units, which are OS independent,
connect to systems via a single eSATA or USB cable to a USB 3.0 or
2.0 port. Both solutions come integrated with AES 256-bit disk
hardware encryption.
There is no software to install or
training required. The encryption and description are activated by an insertion of a cipher key, similar to opening a door with a
key. The FIPS certified hardware crypto engine integrated inside the
Cipher RAID Tower ensures performance of the HDD. Data is encrypted
and decrypted on all drives simultaneously on the fly, transparent to
the user.
The HDDs inside both units can be
configured to form a single RAID volume or to appear as individual
drives to the system. Configuration is set via dip switches
accessible from the back of the device. Drives are added or removed
from the storage chassis like cassette tape with no special drive
tray or tools. By attaching to the optional NAS 4.0 adapter, both
storage solutions become a secured NAS storage.
MSRP for the 1U Cipher RAID Rack is
$389 and for the Cipher RAID Tower is $399.
