Zerowait and LinuxMagic Partnering
To offer mail storage for ISPs and telcos based on NetApp
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 7, 2013 at 2:59 pmLinuxMagic, Inc., provider of carrier grade email
platforms for the ISP and Telco markets, has partnered with Zerowait Corporation to offer their customers Off-Lease
NetApp storage solutions for their mail applications.
Michael Peddemors, president andCEO of LinuxMagic, said: "ISP’s and Telco’s need fast, efficient
storage devices for their customers email, and we have always recommended
NetApp as a ‘Best of Breed’ storage device. One of our ISP customers introduced
us to Zerowait, and after discovering how inexpensive off-lease systems could be,
we began recommending customers contact Zerowait when they wanted reliable,
high volume email storage for their ‘MagicMail’ servers. The price of ‘new’
NetApp storage can stretch the budget, but by purchasing off lease systems from
Zerowait, ISP’s can take advantage of moving to NetApp Storage while keeping
their costs in line. When we decided to launch our own email hosting service,
we had been so impressed by customer reports, we also turned to Zerowait for
their cost effective solutions. Now, we don’t hesitate to tell all our
customers to contact Zerowait when sourcing mail storage."
Added Mike Linett, president of Zerowait: "NetApp leases over $1 billion of new product each year. To provide the
leasing companies with residual value which allows them to reduce the lease
rate, NetApp allows the leasing companies to do a one-time transfer of
available licenses on the systems being resold, and agrees they will provide
support for these new customers. NetApp has not publicized this program to
minimize competition for their new products, which is understandable since we
can offer one generation old NetApp Storage for less than half the price of
new."
Rob Robinson, VP of sales for Zerowait, noted: "We"re pleased to be able to work with LinuxMagic to help them provide
complete solutions for their customers. Linux users are value driven customers,
and expect the same value from their storage solutions as their applications.
When a LinuxMagic customer comes to Zerowait for a solution, we can tailor the
system to meet their budget as well as their storage requirements. Our support
packages help their customers keep their ongoing storage expenses in check, and
we support NetApp products beyond NetApp’s artificial end of life dates to make
sure each customer gets the most from their storage investment."
Michael Peddemors added: "Our
customers expect a lot from their partners, and we would not recommend talking
to anyone that didn’t give the same levels of service we are known for. We
don’t only recommend Zerowait for their Low Cost NetApp Mail Storage devices,
but because the Zerowait team has the expertise and great customer service
attitude that our ISP/Telco customers expect."
NetApp provides is an important element of high
volume, high I/O environments such as email and databases, and it is especially
important in the high volume, applications of the Telecom’s and ISP’s. And with
the rapid adoption of smart phones, and newer and ever increasing demand for
fast access to email, high performance storage demands keep increasing.
Zerowait helps organizations around the world control their storage growth
costs with off-lease NetApp hardware, legacy NetApp support services, and the
SimplStor product line of Linux storage hardware.
