AMAX
Information Technology Inc. announced the availability
of its server solution designed for CDN providers.
The new ServMax PipeLine has
been tuned and optimized to deliver internal disk I/O and cold
traffic fetch I/O to the CDN industry. Due to a set of specialized
components, including the Xeon E5-2600 series processors, SSD
configuration, and 10GbE network pipe, engineers have designed and
engineered this server solution to deliver highest disk and network
throughput while achieving low CPU-utilization, the
high-performance-per-watt, and efficient power usage.
Highlights Include:
- High Internal Disk I/O
The product features a single SAS HDD
working in conjunction with multiple low-power, SSDs (each of which
deliver 540MB/s and 450MB/s sequential R/W performance and 80K/36K
random R/W IOPS respectively) in a striped RAID-0 configuration to
drive large amounts of traffic through the storage subsystem,
resulting in I/O performance on a range of data-intensive tasks.
- Near Line-Rate 10GbE Throughput
It features a dual-port 10GbE SFP+
adapter which has been tuned to deliver near line-rate 10GbE
throughput performance by accelerating UDP and TCP communication in
HFT environments. The solution delivers network acceleration to
deliver low latency and bandwidth performance, along with
lossless packet capture, enabling transactional performance in HFT
environments and high throughput efficiency.
- Low Power – High TCO
ServMax PipeLine is optimized to offers low TCO compared to competing solutions. With a design aimed
at addressing and eliminating potential bottlenecks, it features
CPUs that optimize energy-efficiency to keep performance high and
costs down, SSDs that go to sleep when idle, a 10GbE
pipe, power supply efficiency and server subsystem settings.
"Extracting the full potential
of individualized components to create an optimized solution is no
simple task," said James Huang, enterprise solutions
manager, AMAX. "It requires careful planning and thought with
hours upon hours of testing and tuning. Our engineers have managed to
develop a solution specifically tailored to the needs of CDN
providers, delivering incredible performance on all fronts to help
them maximize their ROI."
