The Panzura Quicksilver Cloud Storage Controller runs as an ESX VM on UCS E Server, bringing cloud storage benefits to remote office-back office locations. Quicksilver controllers are available in both physical and virtual form factors, providing cost/feature/performance options with accelerating popularity among global enterprises.
"Adding Panzura to the Cisco Developer Network as a VM for the UCS E Server brings enterprise-class cloud-attached storage to Cisco users for the first time," said Jim Thayer, VP of channel sales at Panzura. "No other cloud storage solution supplies Panzura’s scale, features, military-grade security, or performance to Cisco users."
The Cisco-certified Quicksilver VM can be used alone or in concert with physical or virtual Quicksilver controllers used throughout an enterprise’s infrastructure to enable cloud storage, file sharing, data protection, and access to any data from anywhere anytime by any user, subject to permission policies.
The Panzura platform, dubbed ‘NetApp in the Sky’ by analysts, brings all the standard features of local NAS combined with a global file system, local caching/pinning, inline global deduplication, military-grade encryption, AD-integration and access control lists, and WAN optimization.
