Alan Wallman VP Business Development, Bridgeworks

Bridgeworks Limited has appointed Alan Wallman as VP business development, with particular emphasis on the SANSlide long distance storage connectivity product.

 He will be responsible, along with David Trossell, CEO, for the ‘go-to-market’ strategies, their planning, and execution. He will be developing partner and channel relationships to achieve the growth and long-term business objectives commensurate with the potential market.

Alan has over 30 years of experience with software, hardware and business planning in the IT industry, working with new technology, start-up and U.S. companies entering EMEA. His experience is based upon periods with IBM, in systems engineering, product marketing (in the USA), sales and management, and more recently as VP EMEA for the Emulex Corporation, where revenues were increased eightfold over a period of 10 years.

Alan has developed sales, marketing strategies and teams, and he has worked in introducing and developing key business strategic relationships, recognizing the significance of approvals, endorsements, partnerships and co-operation with major OEMs, channel partners, and others, to achieve sales to major corporations both nationally, and internationally.

He has also been involved with, and responsible for introducing new technologies into EMEA; for example, FC, and he was a founder member and director of the pan-European industry body, FCIA, before merging the FCIA into the SNIA, where he acted at various times as treasurer, and with responsibility for strategic relationships.

His career focus has been in developing and implementing business and sales targets, building sales teams and channels, and ensuring that business relationships are established, respected, and of long term benefit and value.

Alan holds a B.Eng in mechanical engineering from Liverpool University and has also worked in East Africa as a VSO volunteer.
