The systems feature a new advanced hardware platform that offers throughput performance, capability to optimize file sharing, IP SAN applications, storage and backup.

The new EonNAS systems utilize an upgraded platform and Intel CPU. They deliver 80%higher throughput and greater capabilities compared to the other NAS products in the EonNAS 3000 Series.

The 3510’s performance stands out with an Intel Xeon E3 quad-core 3.2GHz processor, 8GB DDR3 RAM and up to eight Gigabit LAN.

Both the 3510 and 3310 offer variant models, users can choose from 8Gb FC, 1GbE or10GbE iSCSI connectivity configuration to meet the diverse demands of SMBs. As for capacity, both systems offer a maximum of 480TB when attached with expansion enclosures.

The solutions offer protocol support, providing file sharing among workstations using different OSs and enabling SMBs to serve file-based and block-based applications with a single system. Resource utilization is enhanced by features including data deduplication and compression. Data is protected by features such as snapshot technology, which offers space-efficient differential data copies to quickly roll back data or restore files in the event of data errors. The ZFS file system grants end-to-end data integrity.

Thomas Kao, senior director of product planning at Infortrend, noted: "The new EonNAS 3310 and EonNAS 3510 further enhance our rack mount NAS line-up for SMB users. They satisfy the high-performance requirement and capacity expansion needs of SMBs. We provide an easy-to-use interface to help SMBs easily and effectively manage their data. Many of the data service functions which were previously only available in enterprise technologies such as data deduplication and ZFS are now available for SMB. This is great news for SMBs and is the ideal NAS solution for them."
