CloudBerry Lab Supporting Amazon Glacier
With update of Managed Backup Service
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 23, 2013 at 3:18 pmCloudBerry Lab updated its Managed Backup Service.
In the new version service providers are enabled to exploit 10x cheaper data archiving and backup with Amazon Glacier, secure and durable low-cost storage service, for their customers’ backups.
Glacier is a low-cost cloud storage introduced by Amazon AWS in August 2012. It was designed for data archiving and backup costing $0.01 per gigabyte per month, that gives MSPs 90% savings compared to on-premises solutions. It is a reliable and alternative to Amazon S3 but only for the infrequently accessed data for which retrieval times of several hours are suitable.
With Amazon Glacier, CloudBerry Managed Backup Service providers can decrease total costs of the service by offering cloud backup and archiving to their customers at lower price. Alongside with the reduced storage costs, it allows keeping operating costs low by providing remote management and monitoring capabilities.
Alexey Serkov, CTO at CloudBerry Lab, said: "We are very excited about the benefits Amazon Glacier delivers to our customers. Low-cost Amazon Glacier storage in combination with CloudBerry Managed Backup solution allows Service Providers to start their own online backup business with no hardware cost and offers reliable online backup service under their own brand at very competitive prices."
CloudBerry Managed Backup Service with support for Amazon Glacier is available.
