Tivoli Advanced Reporting and Management for DFSMShsm V2.5

IBM Tivoli Advanced Reporting and Management for DFSMShsm V2.5 is a tool that helps manage critical aspects of the Data Facility Storage Management Subsystem (DFSMS) HSM environment.

New in V2.5:
Administration enhancements to provide the user with critical information about HSM activity and work from within the product. Examples:

• Through the new user-definable master panel, users create streamlined access to the panels and reports that provide the critical information they need to determine what work DFSMShsm has done, the status of that work, and what data DFSMShsm is managing.
• Support for multiple product parm members makes Advanced Reporting and Management for z/OS functionality available to sites whose internal procedures require that parm members be stored in different libraries.

HSM health reporting includes two new reports:

• Small-data-set-packing (SDSP) Allocation report determines how SDSP is allocated, verifies that it is allocated correctly, and identifies the SDSPs that are allocated incorrectly.
• SDSP Share Options report determines whether the share options defined to an SDSP are correct and identifies the SDSPs whose share option definitions are incorrect.

SRECOVER enhancements:

• Allows users to recover a data set from either a DFSMShsm active backup copy or a retained backup copy.
• Function works in a stand-alone mode outside IBM Tivoli Advanced Reporting and Management for DFSMShsm so users can take advantage of SRECOVER.
• Reads the DFSMShsm medical content-based retrieval (MCBR) record, Retained Backup Control Record, for complete and accurate reporting and use of available backups.
