Unidesk VDI Management Software Certified on VCE Vblock Systems

Certification conducted by Superna

Unidesk
Corporation
, in virtual desktop
provisioning, application delivery, and image management software for VMware
View and Citrix XenDesktop, announced that its VDI management solution
has been certified on VCE Vblock Systems as VCE Vblock Ready.

Vblock systems integrate Cisco networking and server, EMC storage and VMware
cloud infrastructure technologies into a single converged
infrastructure system with support. This certification provides customers with
the assurance that Unidesk will interoperate with Vblock systems.

"We
are thrilled to provide a solution that is Vblock certified as the growth in
desktop virtualization drives greater demand for converged infrastructure,
"
said Don Bulens, Unidesk CEO. "The VDI market will grow even more rapidly if IT
organizations can reduce complexity, expand use cases, and show clearer
operational cost savings. Unidesk greatly simplifies the management of
Microsoft Windows images, applications, and users for Citrix XenDesktop and
VMware View customers, while providing the user flexibility and administrative
simplicity needed for VDI success.
"

With Unidesk desktop layering software, VDI administrators have only one gold
image of Windows to patch and update for all desktops, no matter how
differently they are configured. Applications can be packaged separately and
layered in minutes, without the limitations of application virtualization. End
users enjoy persistent desktops that keep all customizations, including
user-installed applications. By sharing layers across many desktops, Unidesk
reduces VDI storage capacity requirements up to 70% for both non-persistent and
persistent desktops.

Certification was conducted by Superna, which has been authorized by VCE to
provide Vblock system certifications to VCE
Technology Alliance Partner
(TAP) program members. This certification
enables mutual channel partners and customers to accelerate adoption of Vblock
systems by leveraging Unidesk for VDI use cases where desktops need to be
configured with a variety of applications, Windows patches must be frequently
applied, and user customizations need to be saved.
