Synology Unveils VisualStation VS240HD
Multi-channel viewing surveillance solution

Inc. launched VisualStation VS240HD, a surveillance
solution designed for ease of multi-channel viewing on local HDMI displays.
VS240HD boasts image decoding
capability by supporting up to 24 channels of simultaneous HD viewing at 240 FPS in 720p. Dual HDMI video outputs make it a
surveillance solution for large-scale deployments, allowing users to stream
high-quality footage to different screens in a security
control center.
"VS240HD
is an economical and compact device dedicated to live-view monitoring. It does
not require a PC and saves on energy bills by consuming merely 14.4 watts in
full operation while still maintaining a space-saving design," said
Chad Jiang, product manager of Synology.
Paired with Synology DiskStation or
RackStation, VS240HD supports video streams in MJPEG, MPEG4, and H.264
compression formats, including audio. Pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) cameras are also
supported to offer monitoring and object tracking.
Users can
view video footage, both live and recorded, and export HDTV
clips and snapshots to external USB storage devices. All these
features can be managed through an user interface with
a USB mouse.
