New Start-Up PernixData, in Stealth Mode

Up to now start-up PernixData, Inc. has not revealed information about its storage product.

On its web site you can only read:" Our world-class team with deep storage and virtualization experience has set out to build a new data platform for the next generation software-defined datacenter."

 CEO and co-founder Poojan Kumar brings 12 years of experience at enterprise software companies. Prior to founding Pernix, he was at VMware where he led all data products. Prior to that, he was co-founder and VP engineering of PixBlitz, a video server appliance company and formerly co-founded and led the development of Oracle Exadata.

CTO and co-founder Satyam Vaghani was a principal engineer at VMware. A 10 year veteran in this company, he created VMware virtual machine file system (VMFS), and architected/implemented storage virtualization stack for VMware ESX server. He has authored 50+ storage related patents.

Lightspeed Venture Partners seems to be an investor in the San Jose, CA-based company with Bipul Siha member of the board.
