This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 7, 2013 at 3:00 pmBrent Rhymes, CEO of iWave Software LLC,
wrote to customers and partners:
I’m thrilled to announce that iWave is now part of EMC.
iWave has successfully collaborated with EMC Corporation for years. Both I and our board of directors strongly believe that this is the right and logical next step in what has been a very successful partnership with EMC, the undisputed market leader in storage.
Looking back, in 2012 iWave established itself as an early market leader in storage automation—driven in large part through partnership with EMC. Now, as part of EMC, iWave is poised for some truly exciting and exponential growth in what is becoming one of the hottest storage software capabilities.
The past five years at iWave have been inspiring for me personally. I’ve had the true pleasure of witnessing the iWave team establish leadership in storage automation, while drawing attention from the storage industry’s biggest players. Our talented iWave team, our partners and customers now have the added value as part of EMC’s market leading storage portfolio – delivering customers with world-class support and even more resources to continue innovating and leading the market in storage automation.

This acquisition was not formally announced by EMC as it's usually the case when the price of an acquisition do not impact seriously the cash of the storage giant.
iWave Software was founded in 1993 and is a privately-held subsidiary of
the Hall Financial Group. The company is headquartered in Frisco, TX (a
suburb of Dallas), and maintains offices in London, England and
Moncton, Canada.
The company was partnering with EMC, but also with Dell and NetApp.
iWave Storage Automator, installed in minutes, helps to know how storage
is provisioned, when automated storage services are performed and which
approval processes to initiate for users' requests.
This year, it was supposed to be extended to support also IBM (XIV an DS), HP (3par) and HDS (VSP).
