The DMS 2000 and DMS 4000 are the first block level data migration appliances designed to eliminate production downtime during migration. Each DMS appliance is a 100% transparent device requiring no changes to the existing environment; no need to make switch zoning changes, to modify LUN masking, or to change/add host drivers, which substantially reduces risks, and saves both time and money.

It is built on the patented Transparent Data Interception (TDI) technology which allows the migration of live data at the disk/LUN level within a heterogeneous storage farm or even across two remote data centers.

"We are excited to release DMS as the first of a number of products based on the TDI technology that will significantly improve the migration process and will soon lead to dynamic caching solutions," said Paul Bjorndahl, director of sales and marketing at CDS. "Our goal is to take the pain points out of the process and potentially save companies with production migration projects, hundreds of thousands of dollars."

CDS is a privately-held software company specializing in developing and marketing enterprise storage software solutions. It was founded by a group of seasoned entrepreneurs each with over 20 years of experience in the computer storage software and financial industries.

The team holds 15 patents, with the most recent one being granted by the US PTO on August 2012 (# 8,255,538) for TDI.
