IceWEB Introduces ERX Platform
All-SSD appliance
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 3, 2013 at 2:51 pmIceWEB, Inc. introduced its new line of all Solid State Unified Storage Products, the Ice Platform.
The new IceWEB SSD models replace the traditional spindle-type HDDs with SSDs across the IceWEB line.
The new solid state appliances, dubbed the IceWEB ERX (environmentally responsible acceleration), provide increases in speed and IO performance over the already category-leading performance metrics of the standard IceWEB line of Unified Storage Appliances, while minimizing heat generation and power consumption.
"Our new ERX platforms deliver all the IceWEB unified storage award-winning reliability, stability and an enterprise feature-set -key operational metrics for unified storage purchasers-while dramatically enhancing performance through our unique implementations of solid state technology. They are faster, consume less power, generate less heat, and offer IO performance levels exceeding 100K IOPS and 1.2 GB/s. For clients, the TCO characteristics are greatly enhanced while the environmental impact is significantly minimized," said Gaurang Mehta, CTO of IceWEB.
Rob Howe, CEO, added: "We’ve taken another important leap forward for our customers, providing enormous value to fit constricting budgets for clients who demand the best. IceWEB’s mission is all about providing massive gains in purchasing power for our customers. That’s what real market value is-getting everything you want or need for less money, fully cognizant that the integrity of the products remains beyond reproach. It’s important to us to provide environmentally sensitive products as well. Conserving heat and power saves money, and helps companies reduce their carbon footprint. That’s real value."
