Intel’s Grizzly Pass Storage System Certified by Open-E

And special offer for network server adapters

With the Intel R2224GZ4GC4, storage specialist Open-E, Inc. has certified the third system by Intel Corp. in the Open-E Certified Storage Server program.

In various tests conducted by Open-E’s engineers, the storage system from Intel’s Grizzly Pass family showed high performance with Open-E DSS V7, the company’s easily manageable storage software.

The combination of both hardware and software guarantees stability for storage environments like HA storage cluster, NAS filer setups or storage for databases.

In addition to this, Intel now introduces a special offer for the network server adapters used in the system which has been tested and certified by Open-E. Intel’s reseller partners can now purchase one Intel x540 Network Adapter and get a second one for free. The x540 adapters are available with one or two independent 10GBASE-T Ethernet ports based on the X540 integrated single chip controller. They are also backwards compatible with existing 1000Base-T networks, which simplifies the transition to 10GbE, and support NFS, iSCSI and FCoE.

Krzysztof Franek, CEO and president of Open-E is pleased about the results of the certification: "Seeing that our software works this well with the high-quality storage system of Intel is proof that you can build a HA cluster solution at a reasonable price."
