Infortrend and Crossroads Reach Settlement of Patent Infringement Cases

Infortrend Technology, Inc. and Crossroads Systems, Inc. have reached a settlement on patent litigations that includes the dismissal of all current lawsuits and a perpetual cross-license agreement.

The cross-license covers the past, current and future products of both parties. The terms of the settlement are confidential.

Crossroads filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the U.S. District Court of Texas in February of 2012 against Infortrend. Infortrend later filed a separate patent infringement lawsuit against Crossroads in the U.S. District Court of Delaware in July of 2012, claiming Crossroads sold products that violated Infortrend’s U.S. Patent No. 7,310,745 which cover the ability to perform media scan operations for storage systems.

Infortrend and Crossroads reached a perpetual cross-license agreement for the parties’ respective patents at issue, and that all the disputes and claims arising out of the litigations were settled and dismissed.

Under the license granted by Crossroads, Infortrend shall provide and make the LUN (Logical Unit Number) masking functionality available to customers.
