VMware Deploying Proofpoint Suite of Solutions

Proofpoint
Inc. announced that VMware Inc.
has implemented the Proofpoint suite of solutions including enhanced
archive, eDiscovery and compliance for the VMware
Zimbra platform.

This implementation as well as
collaboration between the two companies addresses the needs around
data protection, archiving and compliance for global enterprises.

VMware’s primary reason for deploying
Proofpoint’s suite of solutions was to automate and streamline their
current system, to save money and to implement an archiving system
that integrates with Zimbra as well as Exchange.

to meet compliance regulations and speed up responses to ediscovery

archiving and management solution with minimal end user interaction,

The company also worked with Zimbra to
integrate its solutions with the Zimbra platform to provide
users with e-discovery, compliance and email security. Proofpoint
Enterprise Archive and Enterprise Protection are both compatible with
Zimbra, and provide customers with protection, spam detection,
phishing protection, data privacy, virus protection, dynamic email
reputation and data loss prevention capabilities. Proofpoint
Enterprise Privacy is also compatible with Zimbra.

Zimbra is a collaboration hub
for email, contacts, calendars, documents, file sharing, tasks,
social media and enterprise applications.  Zimbra supports
Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Internet Explorer on any desktop or
device, and works with Windows, Mac and Linux desktops.

The compatibility and integration of
Proofpoint solutions
with the Zimbra platform
provides users the ability to
leverage the following:

• Proofpoint Enterprise Archive, a
  cloud-based service that works with Zimbra to archive email, IM, and
  social media content in accordance with regionally specific retention
  requirements. Customers can manage legal hold and eDiscovery
  obligations through automated processes, with fast search performance
  uniquely backed by a SLA.

• Proofpoint Enterprise Protection
  virtual appliance delivers, inbound and outbound email security and
  management features in one solution. Customers can protect their
  email infrastructure from outside threats including spam, phishing,
  malware, unpredictable email volumes and other forms of objectionable
  or dangerous content before they hit the enterprise gateway.

• Proofpoint Enterprise Privacy
  virtual appliance suite provides ‘defense in depth’ data loss
  prevention for all sorts of private information. It protects private
  information in email, defends against leaks of confidential
  information and assists Zimbra customers with their compliance with
  common international, industry and US data protection regulations,
  such as HIPAA, GLBA and PCI-DSS.

Proofpoint suite of solutions allows
Zimbra customers to track, manage, and control important content,
regardless of where it resides, by proactively managing e-discovery
risk and costs from archived email to files and documents living
outside of managed repositories.
